Interact students at Rotary Conference

On Saturday, October 12, the Galva High School Interact Club was invited to present at the Rotary District 6460 Conference in Springfield, IL, at the UI-Springfield campus. During their presentation, members Braden Murphy, Ryanne Hutchinson, Ciara Gowler, and Allison Nordstrom discussed some of the different activities and projects they do in Interact, including cooperative service with Rotary and district, local, and international service projects. Throughout the day, they attended presentations by other Interact clubs from all over the district. Club members had a chance to get acquainted and share ideas for projects, recruiting, and member retention. They also heard from an inspirational speaker and magician, a polio survivor, international exchange students from the Rotary Youth Exchange, and Cambridge Rotarian, John Taylor. Lastly, they helped with a service project for Midwest Missions by assembling Personal Dignity Kits for distribution to various populations in need. Although it was a long day, the members thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to learn from and share with so many other service-minded individuals.
