Galva Boys Basketball defeated Bushnell Prairie City last night. Their winning streak continues. 7 in a row for JV and 5 in a row for Varsity! Final score JV 51-28 Varsity 63-25 GO CATS!

The Boys High School Basketball team will travel to Bushnell Prairie City today for a 4 PM start. Good luck today!

Good luck to the 7th grade boys in their basketball regional today at Visitation. They compete at 10 AM. Go Cats!

Good luck to the 8th grade girls volleyball team in their 5th annual Bump Set Spike Tournament today at Galva Elementary. Come cheer them on!

HS Boys Basketball will host West Central tonight. NOTE THE TIME CHANGE- We will start the F/S Game at 6:30 PM and the Varsity Game at 8:00 PM. (Each game is starting 30 minutes later than the original scheduled time). See you tonight. Go Cats!

Fifth graders celebrated the completion of their country research project with an All Around the World Christmas Extravaganza! 🌎🎄Students explored cultures from around the globe by sampling foods, creating crafts, and learning words in different languages from their chosen countries. Along the way, they strengthened important research skills by practicing inquiry, learning about plagiarism, and properly citing sources using a citation page. It was a festive and meaningful way to showcase their hard work and global learning!

Our K-Kids were busy this week at their after school meeting. They were creating signs to support their latest service project. They will be collecting pop tabs for the Ronald McDonald House in Peoria. Our sixth grade teacher, Mrs. Olson and her family have been staying at the Ronald McDonald house while their baby Job, is a patient at the hospital. Way to go K-Kids!

Galva Events January 15, 2026

Today we host ROWVA/Williamsfield and Wethersfield in a Scholastic Bowl matchup at 4:00 PM at Galva Jr/Sr High School. Come see Scholastic Bowl compete!

Congratulations to these 13 fourth-graders who achieved their second quarter AR goals. Students were challenged to read a 1-point nonfiction book, earn 2 AR points in nonfiction, reach 85% correct on quizzes, read books within their individual levels, and reach their individual point goal. Way to go!!
