Hello 8th Grade Families,

The annual trip to Washington D.C., Williamsburg, Virginia Beach, & Busch Gardens is scheduled for June 7-13, 2026! We have students already registered and ready to travel but we have space still available! If you have already registered for the 2026 trip, you do NOT need to attend this meeting.

If you are still interested in traveling and want some more information, please join Mr. Norway on TONIGHT at 6:00 PM in the Galva Jr/Sr High School Library. Space is filling up fast and we want all students to have the opportunity to travel. Cost, security, and financial assistance will be the primary topics discussed.

For additional information, please take a look at the Galva DC 2026 Website using the link below:

https://myprogram.worldstrides.com/custom/2026-galva-jr-sr-hs-dc-220887/

I hope to see you tonight at 6:00 PM!

Thank you to Mrs. Mersman for snapping our Student of the Month photos! She created the border and had them printed so that we can proudly honor our student accomplishments in our hallways at school. At the end of the month, students will be able to keep their photos forever!

Galva FFA Volunteers at Jordbruksdagarna / Bishop Hill Ag Days – Day 1

Today (Saturday, 9/27/25), both our High School and Jr. High FFA members volunteered alongside the Bishop Hill Historical Society in Bishop Hill.

Our students helped bring agricultural history to life by:
• Operating the apple cider press
• Making corn husk dolls
• Forming and baking bricks
• Pressing sorghum

Demonstrating past farming practices, engaging visitors and helping share how agriculture shaped our local heritage.

We had great volunteers today and we are excited for Day 2!
