Officer Brown is reviewing Bike Safety procedures with all students today. The weather allowed for an outdoor presentation. As always, please be conscious of student bikers this time of year. Students should walk their bikes on school property and at crosswalks. This time of year brings out a lot of bikes and we want to ensure student safety when riding!

Galva Varsity Wildcats Falls To state ranked Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge] In Low-Scoring
Both teams were strong in the circle on Saturday, but Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge] was just a little bit stronger at the plate in their 3-0 victory over Galva Varsity Wildcats. Jovie Weber started the game for Galva Varsity Wildcats and recorded 21 outs.
Jovie Weber struck out 16 batters on the day. The pitcher also allowed three hits and three runs over seven innings while walking none.
Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge] opened the scoring in the second after a passed ball scored one run.
Casteel homered to center field, scoring two runs in the top of the fourth for the Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge].
Casteel stepped in the circle first for Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge]. The hurler allowed three hits and zero runs over seven innings, striking out 17 and walking one.
Kaylyn Gale, Jovie Weber, and Alison Bussell each collected one hit for Galva Varsity Wildcats.
Casteel drove the middle of the lineup, leading Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge] with two runs batted in. The cleanup hitter went 2-for-3 on the day. Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge] were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. M Harreld made the most plays with 17.

Congratulations to our 4th Grade Classes on last week's Attendance Challenge Victory! Mrs. Dooley and Mr. Freeman combined for a beautiful 98.5% attendance rate. Way to finish the year strong! #AttendanceMatters

We're live on location at the AW Titan Invite! The most thrilling Friday night of the year. We didn't win the cake this year, but we did have a great night as we battled through injuries. This is the perfect time to put up some PR's and we had a lot of them!

Last night, the Galva High School Band gave an outstanding performance at Western Illinois University in a special joint concert with the WIU University Band! It was a distinct honor to receive the invitation to play and a great time was had by all! If you were unable to attend, you can watch the full concert at this link:

The Galva varsity baseball lost a tough one tonight against West Central. The Wildcats trailed 2-0 heading into the bottom of the 6 inning but managed to score 3 runs in the inning to take a 3-2 lead into the top of the 7th, but it wasn't meant to be, as they gave up 3 runs, to lose 5-3.
The Cats were lead offensively by MJ Louck who was 3-4 with a RBI and a SB, Gage Simoneaux was 2-4 with a SB, Braxton Hulstrom was 1-3 with the only extra base hit as he smacked a double to the gap. The Cats will be back in action Saturday for a conference DH against Ridgewood.

There is no school on Friday, May 1st. We will see our students on Monday, May 4th.
Tonight, the Galva High School Band will be performing a special joint concert at Western Illinois University in Macomb with the WIU University Band! The performance begins at 7:30pm in the COFAC recital hall. We'd love to have lots of friends and family from Galva join us for this special event!
