Attention Elementary Families with a Kindergartener in 2026-2027: We are excited to announce our Kindergarten Round-Up Night 2026. This event will take place on Wednesday, May 13th, from 5:30-6:30 PM. This is for ALL 2026-2027 Kindergarten students. Any students who are not currently enrolled in Galva PreK will stick around after 6:00 for a brief student screening. Save the Date!

The Jr. High track meet was back in action at BV yesterday evening! Despite the challenge of back-to-back meets some of our ladies had a big night!
Sam Fox set a personal best in both of her events! She shaved time off of her 800 m, finishing in 3:57.61! She also added distance to her best disc throw, throwing a distance of 14.09 m!
Chloe Anderson also had a big night throwing. She finished 4th in shot put, throwing 4.89 m and she set a new personal best in disc, throwing 10.59 m!
Ellie Sellers finished 1st in the 100 m, with a time of 14.25!
Elsie Fox set a personal best in the 100 m, running a 17.38!
Parker Kaiser ran a great 1600 m, finishing 4th with a time of 7:07.87!
Izabella Carlton finished 7th in the 400 m with a time of 1:30.86.
Great job wildcats!
Galva Athletics, Monday, April 13, 2026: Softball hosts Henry-Senachwine at 4:30 PM at the Galva Park District, and JH Track heads to Princeville for a 4 PM start time.
The Galva Varsity Wildcats grabbed the victory in walk-off fashion, 4-3, over Annawan-Wethersfield in the first game of a double header on Saturday. The game was tied at three in the bottom of the seventh when Danielle Wigant hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run.
Galva Varsity Wildcats opened the scoring in the second after Jovie Weber singled, scoring one run. Later in the game, Kaylyn Gale homered to right field, and Sarah Burris grounded out, each scoring one run.
Weber started in the circle for Galva Varsity Wildcats. She gave up seven hits and three runs (one earned) over seven innings, striking out five and walking two.
Kaylyn Gale, Weber, and Wigant each drove in one run for Galva Varsity Wildcats. Alison Bussell led Galva Varsity Wildcats with three hits in four at bats.
The Wildcats lost the second game of the double header.

🗓️Upcoming Events at Galva Elementary School

Congratulations to McKenna Anderson, Cyrus Hurd, Samantha Fox, and Ellory Glaser on being selected to represent Galva Jr/Sr High School as Illinois Principal Association's Great Leaders and Citizens! They were honored with area peers in Moline on Friday. Well deserved!



🏆💛💙Congratulations to our Illinois Principals Association Leadership Award winners! Galva Elementary recognized Libby Wangelin and Bennett Colwell at this morning's leadership breakfast. In a class of great students and leaders, these two proudly represented The Wildcat Way!


Back to back track meets can be very hard, but the Galva junior high boys are making it look easy. New personal best were set by Jax Williams in the hurdles, Reazin Brose in the shot put, Ryker Yelm in the Long jump, Emmett Wigant in the Long Jump, Easton Fouts in the Long Jump, and Camden Johnston in the discuss. Top 5 finishes include Brigham Carasca 3rd in High Jump, 1st in the 800 and 2nd in the mile run, Jax Williams finished 2nd in hurdles, Reazin Brose finished 5th in the 100 and 4th in the shot put, the 7th grade 4x1 relay of Kellen Hardy, Jax Williams, Reazin Brose, and Ryker Yelm finished 3rd and the medley relay team of Ryker Yelm, Emmett Wigant, Camden Johnston, and Easton Fouts finished 5th. Keep working hard boys!
Tonight the Jr High FFA competed in the Spring Middle School Rally. We had a full team in the Animal Science division and one student in the Plant Science division. These kids continue to amaze me with a 1st place finish for Animal Science. Grace Conrad placed 3rd in Animal Science and Olivia Funke placed 1st in Animal Science. Congratulations to these amazing Jr High kids who worked so hard.


Great start to the season for boys junior high track! The boys put in plenty of top 5 finishes. Brigham Carasca finished 2nd in high jump with a jump of 5 feet four inches, 3rd in the 800 with a 2:28 and 4th in the mile with a 5:30. Reazin Brose finished 2nd in shot with a throw of 8.55 m, 2nd in the 100m dash with a 13.89, Jax Williams got 2nd place in the 110 hurdles 20.91. The 4x1 team of Jax Williams/Ryker Yelm/Kellan Hardy/Reazin Brose finished 2nd but no official times,. Lastly, the team of Easton Fouts/Emmett Wigant/Ryker Yelm/Camden Johnson finished 2nd in the new 200/200/400/800 medley relay. Great job boys!!
